Mechanical Design Technology

Students in Mechanical Design Technology are trained to be skilled technicians who can use computer-aided drafting software and equipment. The curriculum is designed to give students training in the most widely used AutoCAD software, Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks and other software. Drafting and design standards are taught in the development of technical engineering prints in designing machinery and equipment, consumer products, buildings, fabrications, installation, sales and production. The program, located on the East Broad Campus, offers an associate degree, certificate and short-term certificate.

Dual Enrollment 

Mechanical Design Technology is a scholarship-eligible program for Gadsden State’s Dual Enrollment Program. The program is available to eligible high school students. Through Dual Enrollment, students earn both college and high school credits. Eligible students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. They must be a high school sophomore, junior or senior, and they must have approval from a high school counselor or administrator. Limited scholarships and grants are available!
